Consent processes that are real, and recorded

The problem

Consultation and consent requirements for projects affecting tribal communities are sometimes recorded as completed when the affected community reports otherwise.

Why it matters

A consent process that can be recorded without happening protects nobody.

Proposed solution

Document consent processes as reported by the affected community, alongside the official record, and support communities to assert existing rights.

How it would be implemented

Community-led documentation with legal support referral. Publication only with the community's explicit agreement.

Risks, and what we would do about them

Risk

Outsiders speaking for communities rather than with them.

Mitigation

We act only where invited, publish only with consent, and the community controls the record.
